A Day with HERO: Coworking, Coffee, Tea & Sound

Wednesday, September 16 | 10 AM - 8:30 PM
Bu Tea Den | Downtown Los Angeles
Pay What You Can: $0 - $49

For one day, we’re opening Bu Tea Den in a completely new way.

Spend the day coworking at the den while HERO pours his award-winning cold brew and serves hot coffee and tea omakase-style. Then close your laptop and return or stay for an evening of self-care and sound.

For this first experiment, we’re offering the entire day on a pay-what-you-can basis from $0 - $49. One RSVP gives you access to any or all activities throughout the day. Come cowork, join us for the evening, or experience the full day.

Choose the amount that works for you. Everyone receives the same experience regardless of what they pay.

Coworking at the Den

10 AM - 5 PM

Bring your laptop and work from the den alongside other creative people.

Throughout the day, HERO will pour his award-winning cold brew from a mini keg and guide guests through hot coffee and tea sessions. Rather than ordering from a menu, you’ll be invited to pause and experience each drink as HERO chooses to prepare and share it.

He’ll also weave in brief moments of live sound using gong, didgeridoo, and Japanese shakuhachi flute, with plenty of time between sessions to focus, take calls, and connect.

Daytime Schedule

10 AM
Coworking begins with cold-brew coffee and tea

12 PM
Guided hot coffee session

2 PM
Guided tea session

Throughout the day
Brief live sound moments with HERO

5 PM
Coworking ends and the room resets

Self-Care + Sound Bath with HERO

6:30 - 8:30 PM

The evening begins with welcome tea and a short class on the art of self-care, including live Theragun demonstrations.

HERO will then lead a 60-minute sound bath weaving together the deep resonance of the gong, the grounding vibrations of the didgeridoo, and the breath-like tones of the Japanese shakuhachi flute.

We’ll close with tea, time to settle back into the room, and conversation.

Evening Schedule

6:30 PM
Doors open and welcome tea

7:05 PM

Good to Know

Guests may arrive and leave anytime during coworking hours. Phone and video calls are welcome, though headphones are encouraged out of consideration for others.

The daytime experience won’t be completely silent. Guided beverage sessions and brief live performances will happen throughout the day.

Coworking ends at 5 PM while we reset the room. Evening doors reopen at 6:30 PM. Please arrive before the sound bath begins at 7:05 PM, as late entry may disrupt the experience.

This is our first public test of a new coworking and community-space concept that could keep the den open for another three months.

Space is limited, and advance RSVP is required, including for $0 tickets.

Come for the day, the evening, or both, and help us imagine what the next chapter of Bu Tea Den could become.
